Cabell County Schools is exploring moving to a Balanced Calendar in 2014-2015. The balanced calendar reallocates the same number of days (180 days) across the calendar to lengthen the fall, winter and spring breaks and shortens the normally extended summer break. We believe that the Balanced Calendar could offer our students an exciting opportunity to grow academically, develop as a whole, and experience joy at school all year long. The Cabell County Board of Education will vote on the switch in calendar format for the 2014-2015 school year in March/April 2013, following series of community and employee meetings intended to provide information, answer questions, and gather feedback from parents, students, employees, and community organizations and businesses. |
